Introductory Canoe Clinics: The morning of Day #1 begins with a focus on basic water safety, proper stroke technique and maneuvers on a pond; the afternoon is dedicated to using these new skills for maneuvers on moving water . On Day #2 we will perfect these skills and add a few new maneuvers on a fast moving river. (This same course may be offered in 3 consecutive evenings.) Reservations require a deposit of half the clinic cost with the Registration Form . Clinics will be limited to 16 people (8 tandem canoes.) Bring a bag lunch for both days, as no meals are provided. Canoe Alaska provides canoes, paddles, life vests (PFD’s), safety equipment, dry bags and instruction.
Intermediate Canoe Clinic: This clinic is available for those who have completed one of our introductory clinics. Class is held on the pristine and little known Dennison Fork of the Fortymile River in a true wilderness setting- one of our favorite trips anywhere. It’s friendly class II water provides you with plenty of opportunities to reinforce what you learned in our introductory clinic and improve your paddling skills on more challenging waters in a safe situation with professional instructors. We will leave Tok early on Day #1 and reconvene at the West Fork Bridge on the Taylor Highway. After shuttling vehicles, we will proceed down the river, camping 2 nights and returning to Tok the afternoon of Day #3. Reservations require a deposit of half the clinic cost with the Registration Form . Clinic will be limited to 16 people (8 tandem canoes.) Canoe Alaska provides transportation to the river from Tok, meals on the river, raft support for gear, canoes, paddles, PFD’s, safety equipment, dry bags and instruction.
